Dear Students,
Bahçeşehir University, leading the way in Hybrid Education, is making all necessary efforts through its infrastructure and equipment to ensure that you can continue your university life in the best way possible. In line with this approach and according to the decisions taken by our Senate:
Final exams and their make-ups can be given face-to-face or may be administered as online take-home exams or process-based assessments in line with the decisions of the course lecturer and the relevant academic unit management depending on the nature of the course. Transparency and auditability principles will be observed in all online evaluations. Information regarding the evaluation method will be announced by the course lecturer.
According to the Bahçeşehir University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations, there are no excuses for make-up exams. However, considering the effects of the earthquake disaster nationwide and in an attempt to alleviate the concerns of our dear students, it is decided that students who are unable to take the makeup exams and whose excuses are accepted by the relevant academic units will be given the opportunity to take an additional makeup exam. These additional make-up exams will be given between September 11th and September 17th, 2023. Medical and Dentistry Faculties operate on an annual course passing system, so they may apply additional make-up exams on different dates.
In short, if students cannot take final exams due to valid excuses, they can take the make-up exams for courses that offer make up exams. Students who cannot take the make-up exams due to valid excuses can take the additional make-up exams.
The applications of earthquake-stricken students who have applied for dormitory accommodation for the final exams will be evaluated by the Student Dean's Office within the possibilities and suitable quotas of our university.
For students who have been unable to attend practical courses for valid excuses, an opportunity to compensate will be provided. Responsible Faculty/School/Institutes will determine the time and the method of the exam based on the content and implementation of the course.
The English proficiency exam (Proficiency) in the Preparatory School will be conducted face-to-face on June 8th. Students who cannot take this exam will have the opportunity to take the Proficiency exams on July 27th-28th and/or in September.
Graduation rankings are to be announced at the graduation ceremony on July 23rd. We remind students who have the possibility of achieving honors in their programs that they need to graduate before this date.
The final program for the 2022-2023 spring semester, which is included in our academic calendar, will be shared with you on umis.bau.edu.tr.
For questions and detailed information, please contact your respective Dean's Office/Directorate.
We wish you a successful exam period.
