Important Announcement on 2022-2023 Spring Semester Final Exams
Dear Students,
As a pioneer of Hybrid Education, Bahçeşehir University, with its infrastructure, equipment and designs that embrace the differences of all disciplines in education, is doing everything necessary for you to continue your university life in the best possible way. With this approach, in line with the decisions taken by our Senate:
End-of-semester exams may be held as face-to-face exams, online take-home exams or process-based assessments, depending on the nature of the course and in line with the decisions of the instructor responsible for the course and the relevant academic unit management. The principles of transparency and auditability will be observed in all online assessments. Information on which assessment method will be used for each course will be announced by the course instructor.
Under the Bahçeşehir University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulation, there are no make-up exams for resit exams. However, due to the nationwide impact of the earthquake disaster, and to ease your concerns, students who cannot take the resit exam and whose excuse is accepted by the relevant academic units will be granted the right to a resit make-up exam, limited to the 2022-2023 spring semester. Resit make-up exams will be held between 11 and 17 September 2023. Since the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry follow an annual course system, they may hold resit make-up exams on a different date.
In summary, if our students cannot take their final exams due to a valid excuse, they may take the resit exams for courses that have resits. Students who cannot take the resit due to a valid excuse may take the resit make-up exams.
Applications from earthquake-affected students who apply for dormitory/accommodation for the end-of-semester exams will be evaluated by the Dean of Students within the means of our University and available quotas.
Students who were unable to attend practical courses due to a valid excuse may, upon request, be offered a make-up opportunity at a time and in a manner to be determined by the Faculty/School/Graduate School according to the content and structure of the course.
The English Proficiency Exam at the Preparatory School will be held face-to-face on a single day, 8 June. Students who cannot take this exam will be able to take the Proficiency exams to be held on 27-28 July and/or in September.
Graduation rankings are announced at the graduation ceremony on 23 July. We remind students who are likely to rank in their programs that they must graduate before this date.
