“From Anatolia to the Future Sustainable Development Goals Training Program” was held on March 22, 2021 with a coorporation of Anadolu Group, Bahcesehir University (BAU), CIFAL Istanbul, UNITAR and CO-OP. The program aims to build an awareness efforts towards sustainable development goals.
Bahçeşehir University, Cifal İstanbul, Unitar, Food and Agriculture Organization of United Nations organized an online event that focus on the theme of 21stCentury Reset: Sustainable Recovery Post Covid-19. This online event discussed the significance of the main priorities for 2021 and further and discussed the role of the United Nations and academia in strengthening global governance and formulating a reformed and re-designed 21st century.
The event “Yerelde Göçü Yönetmek” aiming to assess the current situation and at the same time creating viable suggestions for the future, was held on 20th June 2021 as part of the 2021 World Refugee Day. This event was coordinated by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Bahçeşehir University Center for Migration and Urban Studies (BAUMUS) and the International Training Center for Managers and Leaders affiliated with United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). The event was organized with the participation of Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Yavuz Günalay, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Migration Policy Coordinator Simten Birsöz İnanç, UNFPA Turkey Program and Partnerships Officer Nazife Ece Karaduman and Bahçeşehir University BAUMUS Director Assoc. Prof. Ulaş Sunata Özdemir.
Bahçeşehir University and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) organized a workshop in Ordu Turkey on Septmeber 13-14, 2021, with the theme of 'Local Products, Gastronomy and Cooperatives' on the role of youth and women in agriculture and cooperatives. Through the workshop organized in cooperation with BAU and FAO, it is aimed to actively involve women and youth in the processes of smart agriculture practices, digital agriculture and sustainable food systems. In this way, it is aimed to include agricultural products in the development of the country with maximum benefit, to contribute to sustainable development, and to bring innovation and innovation in agriculture to family businesses.
A Local Advocacy Program for Refugee Rights is organized under the leadership of Ulaş Sunata, faculty member of the sociology department and founding director of BAUMUS. The Local Advocacy School for Refugee Rights is organized in partnership with Bahçeşehir University Migration and Urban Studies (BAUMUS). It is supported by the Heinrich Böll Stiftung Association Turkey Representative. This program, which is aimed at non-governmental organizations and activists who work or want to work on the rights of immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers, and who want to develop cooperation with local governments on this issue, consists of two stages. The first phase, which will take place on 7-9-14-16 June 2021, is the capacity building training, which will consist of 4 courses and will last for 12 hours in total. In the second phase of the program, which will take place in the summer months, mentoring support will be provided to the participating individuals and organizations, and the work to be carried out with local governments will be followed. The third of the program, which was held in February-March 2020, will be held on 6-7 November 2021 for the fourth time this year.
