- A Local Advocacy Program for Refugee Rights is organized under the leadership of Ulaş Sunata, faculty member of the sociology department and founding director of BAUMUS. The Local Advocacy School for Refugee Rights is organized in partnership with Bahçeşehir University Migration and Urban Studies (BAUMUS). It is supported by the Heinrich Böll Stiftung Association Turkey Representative. This program, which is aimed at non-governmental organizations and activists who work or want to work on the rights of immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers, and who want to develop cooperation with local governments on this issue, consists of two stages. The first phase, which will take place on 7-9-14-16 June 2021, is the capacity building training, which will consist of 4 courses and will last for 12 hours in total. In the second phase of the program, which will take place in the summer months, mentoring support will be provided to the participating individuals and organizations, and the work to be carried out with local governments will be followed. The third of the program, which was held in February-March 2020, will be held on 6-7 November 2021 for the fourth time this year.



- Sociology department head Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Narlı participated in the workshop titled "Security Problems in Cities and Their Effects on Quality of Life" within the scope of Strengthening Civilian Oversight of Internal Security Sector Project (3rd Phase). During the workshops and consultation meetings held within the scope of the project, the Local Prevention and Security Plan for crime prevention was developed and the action plans were started to be implemented by the relevant stakeholders. - The event “Yerelde Göçü Yönetmek” aiming to assess the current situation and at the same time creating viable suggestions for the future, was held on 20th June 2021 as part of the 2021 World Refugee Day. This event was coordinated by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Bahçeşehir University Center for Migration and Urban Studies (BAUMUS) and the International Training Center for Managers and Leaders affiliated with United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). At Impacthon'21, the high school volunteers' Platform that we support as Cifal Istanbul, we meet with young people through sustainable development goals workshops.

- Within the scope of the cooperation of Bahçeşehir University and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, the training and workshop themed “Local Products, Gastronomy, Women and Cooperatives” took place in Ordu on 13-14 September, 2021.

- CIFAL Istanbul and UNITAR joint event on May 3rd, 2021, the President of the Constitutional Court of Turkey Prof. Zühtü Arslan and prominent experts discussed reflections on human rights justice.

- Within the framework of the "Local Products, Gastronomy, Women and Cooperatives" Training Program held in Ordu on September 13-14, 2021 under the leadership of Cifalistanbul, Business department head and Baubranding director Prof. Dr. Elif Yolbulan Okan made a presentation on the branding of local products in global markets.
