Bahçeşehir University (BAU), opens a new campus in addition to its language course located in Washington, the capital of United States of America. Enver Yücel, the president of Bahçeşehir University, Board of Trustees stated that in his speech “Bahçeşehir University has a language course name Fullbright in Washington D.C. After 7 years we will move this school to a new campus. We have bought our new property in Washington and became neighbors with White House.
Bahçeşehir University bought three floors of a building next to White House. The campus will open in spring and students from Istanbul and campuses from other countries shall get educated in the campus for a semester or a whole year. Students will be lectured by Gerogetown, one of the leading schools of U.S.A., and lecturers from George Washington and American Universities and get the opportunity to get acquainted with American culture and habits.
Courses can be Followed from Turkey
Thanks to the infrastructure to be installed to the campus building in Washington, students from Turkey will be able to both live view and interactively join the lectures.
Enver Yücel, the President of BAU Board of Trustees answered the questions related with the subject; “We bought our campus building only 100 meters away from White House. Our University had a language school named Fulbright for even years. Now we will move it to our new Campus. Only this will not be only a language school and shall serve students from campuses in other countries.”
Yücel stated that students will receive education in American language and literature, finance, political science and international relations for a half or whole year and added that they thought this will be useful in terms of improving the experience and building their future carrier. “The importance of this place lies in its location, next to White House students will have their garden, they will gain such a culture at this very young age.”
The Opening of the Campus shall be Held Before White House
Yücel stated that, student will get lectured by Georgetown, George Washington and American Universities, leading universities of U.S.A. thanks to which they will gain new points of view. The repairs shall be completed in two months following which the campus is planned to open. Yücel “We will hold our magnificent opening in the park next to White House”.
Their new campus will also serve as center where Authorities from Turkey can organize press conferences and mentioned about other campus works. Yücel stated that “San Francisco and Toronto campuses will open as well as Berlin. In technology field, we will cooperate with Stanford University at Palo Alto next to San Francisco due to Silicon Valley. We have opened an entrepreneurship office in Boston between Harvard and MIT, and we consider enlarging it. Now Bahçeşehir University has become a World University.”
