The "Digital Art on Campus" project meets with students at Bahçeşehir University Future Campus on 26-30 April 2022.
Akbank Sanat carries out The "Digital Art on Campus" project as the primary sponsorship in cooperation with BASE and 42 Istanbul. The project is organized for the second time this year with the support of LG OLED, Monster Notebook, Sonorous, and AXA Sigorta. It will be held between 4 - 30 April 2022 at Bahçeşehir University, Boğaziçi University, Özyeğin University, and Bilgi University campuses.
It plans to inspire university students with projects, exhibitions, and rich side events that will bring the works of digital artists from various parts of the world to campuses. Artists participating in the exhibition; Can Büyükberber, Cezar Mocan, ha:ar, Harshit Agrawal, Jérémie Bellot, Max Seeger, Oddviz, Osman Koç, and Quayola share a wide range of digital art that allows for different forms of expression with their audience.
The exhibition features: AI (artificial intelligence) artist and human-computer interaction (HCI) researcher Harshit Agrawal, whose works have been exhibited at the world's leading art events, festivals, and museums and entered essential collections. Cezar Mocan, who presented his work in the exhibition "Arcadia Inc." and won the 2021 Lumen Prize in Art and Technology with his work. Jérémie Bellot, one of the important artists of France who is the founder of Makerspace "Ateliers Eclairés" in Strasbourg, co-founder of the "Château de Beaugency, Digital Art Center" project. Quayola, winner artist of Golden Nica Ars Electronica. Max Seeger, who continued his studies at the Würzburg Faculty of Design, returned with awards from many festivals and competitions such as Lumen, ED Awards, and Sci-On! with his "Everything is Growing Everything is Math." Can Büyükberber, whose works are exhibited in art organizations such as Ultramarine, Enlighten Festival, and Miami Art Week globally. Artist duo ha: ar's whose "Impossible Sculptures No. 28" is exhibited at London-based JD Malat Gallery. Their works are exhibited at GAD Giudecca Art District in Venice and Scalo Lambrate in Milan. Oddviz, an Istanbul-based collective founded by Çağrı Taşkın, Erdal İnci, and Serkan Kaptan, and its work Kreuzberg Shedding will also be on display.
The exhibition also includes the Ars Electronica Animation Festival. The program features the works of animation producers under the age of 19 selected by an open call. Children and young people from different age groups have the chance to watch their films.
The exhibition is accompanied by an extensive program of talks and workshops. The project invites the participants to think and discuss the present and future of digital at the technology art meeting. It also aims to convey the agenda that directly or indirectly affects our age, such as artificial intelligence, data, animation, blockchain, and social media.
