The war victim university students in Ukraine will be offered free education by BAU according to the availability of the quota. Students who want to study or continue their education as guest students will be able to study for free in the spring semester.
While the war started by Russia against Ukraine continues, thousands of students, especially Turkish students who continued their university life in Ukraine, became victims of the war. While it has been found out that Ukrainian citizens are on their way to the neighboring borders, thousands of people, including children, continue to suffer from the war. Bahçeşehir University announced that free university education will be provided for Turkish students studying in Ukraine and Ukrainian students with EU passports. This opportunity provided by the university will continue throughout the spring semester to help students overcome their grievances during the war, support them, and not interrupt their education.
Students, who will be considered as special students in guest status by the university, will be provided with a free education opportunity for 1 semester to overcome their grievances. Some of the details of the education are as follows; It is announced that the admission of guest students and the courses they will take will be held with the proposal of the relevant academic department/program and the approval of the relevant dean/directorship. It is also explained that students who will receive education in special status will be given a document with their courses and final grades. It is stated that the applications will be evaluated by the relevant department/program chair and the decision will be made by the administrative board of the academic unit applied.
For students who will be accepted as special students to graduate programs, their admission and the courses they will take at the institute will be determined by the proposal of the relevant institute department/art branch presidency/coordinator and the decision of the institute board of directors. In addition, special students will receive a document about their courses and achievements. It is also stated that students who are accepted to the graduate program by fulfilling the necessary conditions can transfer a maximum of four courses to the program they are enrolled in during the exemption procedures for the graduate courses. This transfer happens through the proposal of the related institute department/art branch coordinator and the decision of the institute board of directors.
