Green Growth and Sustainable Development Summit took place in Kulakkaya where green growth will be evaluated with the political and economic effects of the local government’s perspective. The summit was hosted by Bahçeşehir University and included speakers from different universities as well as important bureaucrats and institutions.
At the summit, OECD Permanent Representative of Turkey Prof. Dr. Kerem Alkin, UN Resident Coordinator Alvaro Rodriguez and academicians from many universities gave speeches about the topic. Bahçeşehir University President Prof. Dr. Şirin Karadeniz, Ordu University President Prof. Dr. Ali Akdoğan, OECD Permanent Representative of Turkey Prof. Dr. Kerem Alkin, UN Resident Coordinator Mr. Alvaro Rodriguez, BAU Global President Mr. Enver Yücel and T.C Giresun Governor Mr. Enver Ünlü made the opening speeches.
It took place with the participation of the public, private sector, local governments, NGOs, and academic members who are the shareholders of green growth and sustainable development.
After the opening speeches program continued with 3 different sessions. The participants made speeches and presentations on the measures taken in certain sectors regarding the climate crisis and their evaluations with panels such as Political Economy and Green Growth, Economic Effects of Adapting to Green Growth, Green Growth From the Perspective of Firm, and Local Government.
At The Green Growth and Sustainable Development Summit, it is aimed to provide positive suggestions to political and economic decision-makers to produce information and to fulfill ecological, economic, and socially sustainable development goals by considering the concept and models of a sustainable economy, especially from the perspective of economy and governance.
