Bahçeşehir University (BAU) School of Dental Medicine and BAU Dentistry Oral and Dental Health Center, both of which closely follow the direction of dentistry in the world, offer students the opportunity to get acquainted with dental practices in the world.
In the new faculty building, which is suitable for both theoretical and applied education in the Balmumcu district of Beşiktaş Municipality in the heart of Istanbul, students will perform practical training at the Oral and Dental Health Center in addition to their theoretical education with a multidisciplinary education approach.
BAU School of Dental Medicine which accepts that oral health is an inseparable part of general health, will offer an education that will create a difference with the Extended Education Curriculum, which it has conceived by including the "Holistic Patient Treatment Approach" and the "Digital Dentistry" practices that has emerged as a result of current technological developments. The educational technologies of the future will enable BAU students to have the opportunity to become competent dentists by effectively using components of digital dentistry such as intraoral scanners, CAD-CAM systems, clinical dentistry software and VR/AR applications during their preclinical and clinical education.

BAU School of Dental Medicine, which aims to foster dentists who have proven themselves in the international arena with the vision of being an internationally recognized faculty, that conducts qualified education and original studies in the field of dentistry, which attaches importance to digital and technological developments, that plans to carry out R&D studies in this field, offers students institutional and professional education. It also offers comfortable working environments at international standards in academic terms. Students have the opportunity to conduct internships in countries such as Switzerland (EE Orthodontics SA), Germany (Be Dental) and England (The London Center for Implant & Aesthetic Dentistry), which have distinguished academic staff and new and high technology equipment in all fields of dentistry; and hence such a practice will contribute to their academic, social and cultural development.
Opportunity to get to know dentistry practices in the world
Owing to the International Clinical Internship Program, which is organized to bring dentistry students together with the global dentistry community in order to introduce them to global dentistry practices, students will have the opportunity to observe the studies on site by getting to know the dental practices all over the world, beyond the local.
Students participating in the International Clinical Internship Program will gather and interpret information about how patients are treated under the guidance of internationally experienced dentists. After the completion of the program, students will be able to present their experiences at Bahçeşehir University (BAU) School of Dental Medicine Research Day.
In this special program, which aims to assist the preclinical professional development of students by providing students with an interactive experience in healthcare environments of different cultures; experiences such as Participating in Clinical Treatment Processes, Communicating with Individuals from Different Cultures, Gaining First-Hand Information and Patient Experience, Program Structure and "Clinical Observation" in Private Clinics in Three Different Countries will be gained.
Fully equipped high-end laboratories
In the Digital Dentistry, Histology, Physiology and Anatomy Laboratories, which contain pertinent the equipment and are large enough for students to practice easily; they will gain copious experiences from following the developing digital dentistry technologies to the opportunity to evaluate the tissues, histological layers and cellular contents of the human body through microscopes.
Students who will have the opportunity to evaluate the functions of cells, tissues, organs and systems that make up the human body, the mechanisms of performing these functions, the cause-effect connections and the relations between these structures; by combining their theoretical knowledge on maquettes and models with visuals, will get to learn the anatomical structure of the human body more closely.
