This Monday, ArchiDesign Talks ‘21 Fall goes on with İsmail Ovacık, chief designer exterior of Volvo Trucks!
Between 1998 and 2002, Ismail Ovacık studied industrial product design at Istanbul Technical University. Later, between 2005 and 2007, he completed master's programme in transportation design at Umeå Institute of Design. During his master's education, he conducted design projects collaborated with Fiat, Toyota, Volvo Trucks, and Philips. After working as an industrial designer at Arçelik, he continued his career by doing internships at Atlas Copco and FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Accordingly, in 2008, he started to work as a designer at Volvo; and after 7 years, he has became the chief designer exterior of Volvo Trucks. As a chief designer, his projects include enhancing vision of Volvo Trucks exterior design through developing numerous production and concept vehicles. Some of his works are exterior design development and execution of Volvo FH/FM/FMX cab updates, heavy/medium duty electric concept and production trucks, Volvo Vera concept, Volvo Concept Truck and VM facelift.
