CIFAL Istanbul Youth Center opened at BAU South Campus Seacoast Square with the participation of United Nations Assistant Secretary-General and UNITAR President Mr. Nikhil Seth.
At the center opened in the direction of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, youth will develop their ideas, build their projects, and will sign joint works with the UN. Students who joined the center will be encouraged to apply to the internships and educations at the institutions of UN and can join the CIFAL Istanbul Certificate programs on the topic of Sustainable Development Goals. All BAU undergraduate and postgraduate students will have the right to join the center.
IYC has five main purposes. These purposes are: Developing awareness and ownership of BAU students about the United Nations’ system, corporate structure, and agenda, developing youth awareness on Sustainable Development Goals, to develop the skills of future mediators and decision-makers who can empathize with other cultures and societies, be reliable, have credibility, build a sense of trust, be fair and understanding, and support them to develop the courage, patience and balanced attitudes necessary for international cooperation among young people who are ambassadors of the future world order. to help develop a sense of time, harmony, persistence, and creativity in designing lasting peace and prosperity for society and the planet.
BAU has the optimum place to embody IYC as being among the leading higher education institution with a diversity of international students. Under the mentorship of CIFAL Istanbul, the IGP located at BAU will lead the expanding network of other Turkish higher education institutions.
