Announcement on the Spring Semester Hybrid Education Planning of the Faculty of Medicine

The planning of education and training activities for the 2020-2021 Spring semester at Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Medicine
was discussed by the Faculty Coordinators Board, the Assessment and Evaluation Commission and the Medical
Education Development Executive Board and submitted to the Faculty Board. At the Faculty
Board meeting held on 17 February 2021, taking into account factors such as the course of the global pandemic in Istanbul,
the mutation data announced by the Ministry of Health, the number of international students and
the high number of students currently outside the city and the country, the fact that Phase I (Years 1-2-3) students have not yet been included in the vaccination
program, and the continuing transmission risk of students and academics being
together in face-to-face education,
the following decisions were taken within the framework of Hybrid Education, in line with the statement of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) dated 17 February 2021:

1. Phase I (Years 1, 2 and 3) theoretical and practical courses will continue online via the Microsoft (MS) Teams application,
taking into account the Faculty's program competencies, and Phase I examinations
will also be held online. Information on course schedules and examinations
will be announced by the class coordinators.

2. For Phase II (Years 4-5), the theoretical sessions of professional practice courses (clerkships) will be held online via the MS Teams
application, while practical sessions will be held face-to-face within the framework of COVID-19 pandemic
measures (in reduced-density settings)*. In this context,
it is important for Phase II students to complete their vaccinations.

3. Phase III (Year 6, intern) clerkships will continue to be held face-to-face in accordance with pandemic rules.
In this context, it is important for Phase III students (interns) to complete
their vaccinations.

Any new decisions that may be taken depending on the course of the pandemic will, as always, be announced to your institutional email
addresses.
