Announcement on the Spring Semester Hybrid Education Planning of the Faculty of Architecture and Design
Dear Students,
Although, as a university, we very much wish to return to our campuses full-time and unconditionally with all our units, the new mutated variants of the virus, together with high case numbers and transmission risk, require us to follow the precautions carefully. As of Monday, 1 March 2021, the Spring semester education process at Bahçeşehir University will begin and our campuses will be open to you, our valued students. We are proud to share that throughout this process, as the BAU Family, we have worked hard to improve the quality of all our education and service processes through our Hybrid University model, whose quality standards we have developed in line with international norms.
In line with the decision taken by our University Senate, which prioritizes the health and safety of all BAU members, we will conduct our courses in the 2021 Spring semester in hybrid format to the extent permitted by the pandemic conditions, which we continue to monitor closely and carefully.
Within this framework, as the Faculty of Architecture and Design, we have completed all course planning. Unless the Ministry of Health and the Scientific Committee issue different guidance in the coming days and YÖK decides otherwise, it has been decided that all theoretical courses will be held online until the end of the semester, and that practical courses will also start online and then move gradually and in a controlled manner to the hybrid method once the relevant boards state that the transmission risk has fallen to a level that allows people to come together. In light of current data, it is expected that the second half of the Spring semester can be taught with the hybrid method in practical courses.
Dear Students,
The statements of national and international boards and authorities on the ongoing assessment of the pandemic are being closely monitored, and we will continue to inform you about how any change in projections due to conditions affects our planning.
In addition, all BAU campuses will remain open during the semester, and practice areas such as Computer Laboratories, the Model Workshop, Studios, the VR Lab and 3D printing facilities will be available for your use in compliance with all necessary health rules and regulations, provided that you inform the faculty unit responsible for student affairs (deniz.uyaraltun@arc.bau.edu.tr) by email in advance.
With this understanding, as the entire BAU family, we are fully hopeful that, with your moral support, we will get through this extraordinary period in the best possible way by doing our very best. We would like to thank our academics first and foremost, as well as you, our valued students, your families and all our administrative staff.
We wish you all a healthy, successful and hopeful semester together with your families.
