Organized for the 8th time this year by Bahçeşehir University, BAU Bosphorus Sailing Cup cheered the Bosphorus.
More than 40 boats participated in the race starting in front of the campus of Bahçeşehir University in Beşiktaş.
The vivid interest shown by the spectators for the boats drew attention along the route to Anadolu Hisarı.
Bahçeşehir University International Sailing Club Commodore Doğancan Öz stated that they are planning to make this organization international in the coming years and said “We established a sailing club within the University. We organize races under this sports club. This year is the 8th anniversary of the Bosphorus Sailing Cup. Since our University is located on the shore, it has been supporting this organization for 8 years. It will also support in the coming years. We plan to internationalize this event and increase participation in the coming years.”
BAU Sailing Club BAUISC is the first university-based, young sailing club conducting sporting, academic and social activities according to the criteria by Turkey Sailing Federation.
Sailing programs contributing to sportive and social development of individuals are offered to public within the framework of practical and theoretical courses planned by BAU International Sailing Club. Specific to the nature of sailing, the concepts like devotion, teamwork, discipline and responsibility are also acquired by participants during the training.
