BAU Bosphorus Sailing Cup Kicks Off

The "BAU Bosphorus Sailing Cup", which turns into a visual feast on the Bosphorus every year, kicked off on Saturday, 14 November at 11:00 in front of the BAU Beşiktaş South Campus with dozens of sailboats taking part.

The BAU Bosphorus Sailing Cup, organized by Bahçeşehir University for the 8th time this year, brought the Istanbul Bosphorus to life.

More than 40 boats took part in the race, which started in front ofBahçeşehir University's campus in Beşiktaş.

The interest shown in the boats by people on the shore along the course, which ran as far as Anadolu Hisarı, was remarkable.

Stating that they plan to make this event international in the coming years, Bahçeşehir University International Sailing Club Association Commodore Doğancan Öz said: "We established a sailing club within Bahçeşehir University. We organize races under this sports club. This year is the 8th year of the Bosphorus Sailing Cup. As a maritime university, our university has supported this for 8 years and will continue to do so in the coming years. We plan to make this event international and to increase participation in the years ahead."

Türkiye's First University-Based Sailing Club: BAUISC

BAU Sailing Club BAUISC is Türkiye's first university-based sailing club, carrying out its sporting, academic and social activities as a young club in line with the criteria set by the Turkish Sailing Federation.

BAUISC Sailing Programs

Sailing programs that contribute to sporting and social development are offered to individuals through courses planned both practically and theoretically by the BAU International Sailing Club.

Concepts inherent to the nature of sailing that individuals need to acquire, such as dedication, teamwork, discipline and a sense of responsibility, are also gained during the training.
