Bahçeşehir University has become a member of the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), established by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and UN Global Compact.
As BAU becomes the first and only higher education institution in Turkey to be accepted as a member of WEPs, we would like to congratulate those who showed initiative and effort for this successful endeavor.

The Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) are a set of principles offering guidance to individuals and organizations on how to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace, marketplace, academia and community. The WEPs are informed by international labor and human rights standards and grounded in the recognition that individuals and organizations have a stake in, and a responsibility for, gender equality and women’s empowerment.
