The first group constituted by Bahçeşehir University, Faculty of Engineering was sent off to Silicon Valley within the scope of the cooperation studies carried out by Stanford University, a university of United States of America.
Our students shall receive education in Stanford University and carry out studies in companies in Silicon Valley thanks to the cooperation agreement entered into between Stanford University and Bahçeşehir University. The content of the educations shall include the studies of companies located in Silicon Valley. Students shall also have the opportunity to utilize from the social facilities of Stanford University.
THE CAMPUS SHALL OPEN IN JUNE
In the meeting he held Enver Yücel, the President of Bahçeşehir University Board of Trustees stated that the project is significant for Turkey and said that “We have carried out numerous international studies so far since the date our university was founded. But Silicon Valley Project has been the most thrilling one for me. We shall open our campus located in the Silicon Valley in July all together. You shall represent your country in many respects. First, you shall represent our country by achieving success in the cradle of technology of the world. Your second duty is to open the way for following generations so I want you to study day-and-night. Each relationship, each network you establish shall make a contribution to your country. See and learn every single company in there, I want you all to return homeland with a couple of projects in your heads. You are the first students of a significant step; every successful study shall give us a better determination. I believe and trust in you. God speed you.”
Debbie Lynn Phiefer will coach the students in the Silicon Valley Project of Bahçeşehir University. Phiefer will be responsible for personal tendencies and project studies of the students with regard to their relations with huge companies. Students are to depart on June the 23rd and return on August the 19th.
The participants of the project are the students from Bahçeşehir University, Department of Engineering and the project is in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. Students to participate in the program are to be determined in March every year and they are to visit Silicon Valley in summer.
