Dear Students of the Departments of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts & Pilotage,
Our university, which perceives it as a duty to provide our students with excellence in education and training, has made all its investments and completed the educational preparations for our students to gain professional competence with pioneering again with the hybrid education model due to the conditions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. The hybrid education model is an effective education system that is the result of the combination of the online system and the face-to-face classroom education system we know.
Bahçeşehir University School of Applied Sciences (UBYO) Gastronomy and Culinary Arts and Pilotage Departments have completed all the academic and technological preparations for our 2020-2021 Fall semester. Our theoretical courses will be held online, our practical courses will be held face-to-face at our campuses within the framework of the pandemic rules and our students will be able to participate online simultaneously.
Some parts of our online courses will be held in the classroom according to the student demand, and our students who do attend the class will be able to follow these lessons remotely. All technical facilities have been installed in our kitchens for our practical courses. Our students who choose to come to our kitchens for face-to-face education and those who cannot attend while the course instructor teaches their classes will be able to follow this course in real time or later via records. Or, if our students wish to do so, they will be able to complete the practical components as a block in their preferred time period according to the monthly schedules announced in our kitchen classes.
With the hybrid system, our university has taken all precautions to ensure that none of our students falls behind by providing face-to-face and online education at the same time. One of the main gains of this education system is that each student can communicate with the course instructor instantly through virtual communication systems and find prompt solutions to the problems of our students.
