Dear Students of the Faculty of Health Sciences,
As you know, our 2020-2021 academic year fall semester starts on October 12, 2020. As of this semester, we will continue our studies as a hybrid university that has been transformed and announced its quality standards.
In the context of the hybrid university, your theoretical courses in your curriculum that you will take this semester will be carried out online synchronously via Microsoft Teams program, and your courses with practical training will be carried out with the hybrid model.
The theoretical components of your courses with practical training will be done online synchronously via Microsoft Teams program, and practical training will be done face-to-face in our laboratories in the North Campus according to the pandemic rules published by the Ministry of Health. Practical training in the laboratories can be simultaneously watched on the online platform.
We also make the necessary planning for the professional practices (hospital, clinic, school, etc.) that must be carried out within the scope of the courses in your departmental curricula towards the end of the semester or as a block during the semester break, depending on the containment of the pandemic.
This year, our students will be able to complete their professional practices in institutions and organizations in their country / province or district that comply with the standards set by their department.
These options will then be communicated to you verbally in interviews with the dean, and in writing by your advisor and department.
Our professional practice plans are as stated above. However, considering the possibility of the pandemic to continue, it is also planned that your professional practice courses will be conducted online - using case analysis, homework, projects, visual materials - on the days and hours specified in your weekly course schedule so that you do not lose a semester.
Another subject you are curious about is the exams. Midterm exams are planned according to the nature of the course and the preference of your course instructor, such as homework project, or online exams. The Council of Higher Education (CoHE) currently recommends the face-to-face final exams.
We wish you all a very good academic year.
