Enver Yücel, the President of Bahçeşehir University Board of Trustees and Irina Bokova, General Director of UNESCO met in Paris. The meeting was held in the Headquarters of UNESCO and it is decided to enter into an agreement between Bahçeşehir University and UNESCO in terms of education and intercultural dialog. The signing ceremony and first activity of the agreement to be executed between Bahçeşehir University and UNESCO shall be conducted in the Headquarters of UNESCO in Paris, in June.
Following the first meeting carried out in April, in Istanbul Enver Yücel, the President of Bahçeşehir University Board of Trustees and Irina Bokova, the General Director of UNESCO met in Paris and concluded to carry out common activities in the future and make an agreement of collaboration between Bahçeşehir University and UNESCO. In the meeting Irina Bokova thanked Enver Yücel and Bahçeşehir University for his contributions in peace and culture and emphasized on the necessity of similar sharing and solution partnerships.

FOR THE EQUALITY OF OPPORTUNITIES IN EDUCATION
Enver Yücel, the President of Bahçeşehir University Board of Trustees stated his happiness due to the meeting and thanked Irına Bokova. Enver Yücel also stated that he was so happy for having realized the “Commemoration Ceremony and Concert for Itri” held in Vatican with the cooperation of UNESCO –Bahçeşehir University and said that “We have decided to collaborate with UNESCO. In the future we will also put our signatures under important activities with regard to peace, intercultural dialog and equality of opportunities in education. Our aim is to contribute in the sustainable peace all over the world thanks to the culture bridges to be built. We shall carry out activities in Balkan countries to protect cultural values.”
Education and culture shall be the primary issues of the collaboration. The aim is to maintain projects which will remove the inequity of opportunities in education and build cultural dialog. In the first phase Bahçeşehir University, Chorus of Civilizations which sings the songs in different languages and melodies, fading to oblivion in the concert hall with a capacity of one thousand two hundred auditors located in the Headquarters of UNESCO. In the same hall Itri, the world famous composer shall be memorialized in his 300th death anniversary with a concert and ceremony. UNESCO shall also broadcast the documentary “River Flowing Westwards” which tells the untold story of civilizations, produced by the incorporation of Bahçeşehir University Civilization Studies Center and Faculty of Communications of Bahçeşehir University.
