Enver Yücel, The President of Bahçeşehir University Board of Trustees, met the spiritual leader of the Christianity World-Benedict, the Pope 16th in Vatican.
Enver Yücel who traveled to Rome to participate in the Commemoration Ceremony and concerts to be held for Itri, visited and informed the Pope of Turkey’s recent contributions in world peace and the studies carried out by Bahçeşehir University in the field of Civilization Researches. Enver Yücel also presented the documentaries, researches and books published by Bahçeşehir University in order to contribute world peace. In the meeting Yücel stated that “We, Bahçeşehir University Staff, have been carrying out studies in various fields to contribute in world peace and the alliance of civilizations.” and presented the book named "Turkey and Vatican, towards Diplomatic Relations in the Light of Secret Documents”, written by Rinaldo Marmara, the official historian and cultural attaché of Committee of Catholic Bishops in Turkey.
Enver Yücel stated that world peace and the alliance of civilizations shall positively affect international relations and presented the Pope another gift with a high sentimental value. Enver Yücel, presented one of the columns in Hagia Sophia presenting Muslimism and told the Pope that St. Pierre Han which belongs to Bahçeşehir University and located in Istanbul, Galata shall be restored in accordance with its original. Bahçeşehir University shall turn St. Pierre Han into a culture center and thanks to the huge library to be built, historians and researches shall be provided with a joint study opportunity. Antonio Lucibello also took place in the meeting. At the end of the meeting it is decided to establish a “Vatican-Turkey Relationships Research Center”.
