About Our Library's Facilities and Remote Access

Due to the extraordinary circumstances in the world and in our country, we are going to our units in shifts and mainly managing our work from our homes.

This announcement is sent to inform you about our library's facilities, how to benefit from them and how we as a team can help you.

 

1. With the knowledge of our Senior Management, our Beşiktaş Barbaros Library is still open on weekdays between 10:00 and 17:30 for borrowing and returning publications.

 

2. You can use our library's resources from home by connecting through off-campus access. Our library has a very extensive e-book collection. The number of books you can access from home is 767,967. You can find information on these figures in the attached file.

 

3. Our library subscribes to approximately 90 databases that you can use by connecting remotely from home, and these databases cover approximately 55,000 e-journals. These resources are available to you unless there is a technical failure. If you encounter a problem, the list of our team members, whom you can reach by phone or e-mail, is attached.

 

4. Interlibrary loan (ILL): There are difficulties with this service because other university libraries have suspended their services in this area. However, we can help with electronic resources.

 

5. The biggest problem you may encounter while using our library's resources from home (or wherever you are) may be connecting to our library through Off-Campus Access. You can access the video guide explaining how to connecthere. Whenever you have a problem with this or similar issues, you can reach us by phone and e-mail. Our computers are on all day, and we are in contact with one another and ready to answer your questions.
