Important Announcement About the Education Process
Dear Students,
As Bahçeşehir University (BAU), all our efforts continue at full speed so that our students are minimally affected by the extraordinary period caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and can continue their education.
In line with the decision of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) on 19 March to hold Spring semester courses through distance (online) education, since 23 March our students have been continuing their learning process without interruption with asynchronous and synchronous courses via our itslearning and Adobe Connect systems.
It is also extremely gratifying that our students' attendance in courses has remained at a very high rate of 92%. The work of all BAU service units, especially Student Affairs, also continues online.
About Applied Courses
In accordance with YÖK's new decision announced on 26 March, BAU has decided to continue its courses online within the Spring semester specified in the academic calendar, and to hold applied courses that cannot be conducted through distance education face to face at the beginning of the summer, on dates to be announced later and as health conditions permit.
About Exams and Learning Achievement
Matters related to exams and the assessment of learning achievement will be carried out using process- and product-based assessment methods together, in accordance with the principles determined by YÖK.
Possible changes to course syllabi and details regarding end-of-year final and make-up exams will be announced as soon as possible.
Status of Graduation Projects and Theses
Graduation projects and theses will continue through our online system. Parts of graduation projects that require practical work will be carried out face to face on dates to be announced.
Graduation Status
Students will attain graduate status and their graduation certificates will be issued upon the official completion of the courses required by their own program.
The graduation ceremony is expected to be held at the end of September, and the exact date will be announced later.
About the Academic Calendar
The dates in our academic calendar will be shaped according to the course of the Covid-19 pandemic and the decisions to be taken by YÖK, and will be announced as soon as possible.
The health of our BAU students, their families and our employees is our priority, and during this process we will continue to work without interruption without compromising our quality of education.
