Germany offers Dual degree opportunities for the graduates in Turkey. The Dual Up system which includes obtaining a diploma in accordance with EU Standards after one year-education, brings many social rights and employment opportunities.
The Dual Up system established in partnership with Berlin International University and Bahcesehir University (BAU), has been introduced in the program organized at BAU. Prof. Dr. Sirin Karadeniz, the President of BAU, Prof. Dr. Hans-Dieter Klingemann, the President of Berlin International University, and many guests participated in the program. Offering a diploma recognized the opportunity within the EU standards, the Dual Up system is available for all graduates in Turkey. The only requirement is that the student receives equivalence certificate from the department where he/she studies. The system which BAU students can receive education in full equivalence, includes 4-year undergraduate education and 1-year education in Germany, and students will be awarded 25% scholarship. The students studying in the departments of Business, International Trade, Logistics Management, International Finance, Communication Design, Architecture, Interior Architecture and Industrial Design can benefit from the system.
“The System is available for all programs established abroad”
Prof. Dr. Hans-Dieter Klingemann, the President of Berlin International University, states in the launching event of the system that “Our program has some goals for students. The first of these goals is that students can obtain an additional diploma by coming to our university after getting a diploma here. The second goal is that a student who has completed university education here may wish to start a master’s degree abroad and further his/her studies. So, the students can join our program and study for one year in our school and receive a master’s degree. The third goal is that you can have a great time in a beautiful city, Berlin, for 18 months but it should be noted that this program is not a simple program, it is a difficult program and it requires hard work. The major advantage of our program is that it is available for all programs established abroad. Students can come to Germany and have a chance to get to know our language, social life and culture.”
“We can prepare a tailor-made program”
By giving advice to the students who want to take part in the business world in Europe, Klingemann stated that “I would like to give suggestion for the students who want to work in Europe; First of all, call us before coming here and tell us what you want to do. Therefore, our advisers can prepare a suitable program for them. For example; if a student wants to develop career in the academic field but thinks that he or she does not have qualified and sufficient skills in this regard, we can prepare special programs and tailor-made programs for them.”
The work permit and residence permit in EU Countries
Prof. Dr. Şirin Karadeniz, the President of BAU, who says that an institutional cooperation has been made with Berlin International University, states on Dual Up system that “This program is available for 8 programs in the Faculty of Communication, Architecture and Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences. The first requirement for the students is to graduate from the university. The second requirement we have created a balance between curricula as we have made corporate collaborations. When applied individually, we already define the courses they study and all the processes from the beginning. After meeting the admission requirements, the students can graduate by taking these additional courses for 1 year. The most important advantage of this diploma for the students is that they have opportunity to get a second diploma in addition to the Bahcesehir University diploma and that this university is recognized by German laws. Therefore, by having this diploma the students have automatically right to get work and residence permit for 18 months both in Germany and EU Countries. The Dual Up program is available not only for the students of our university but also for all students in Turkey. However, only Bahçeşehir University graduates will benefit from 25% scholarship. The most important opportunity we provide to students is to study for another year in our BAU Global network to ensure that they receive another diploma in accordance with German law. Therefore, the student will complete the 4-year university here and also receive a diploma corresponding to 4-year education in Germany by receiving education for 1 year. ”
On the other hand, there are still problems regarding the validity and reliability of the courses take by students from a university across the world. By Dual Up system which aims to eliminate this problem and obstacle for the students in Turkey, the students can find a job within the EU borders, and can have social rights and many other rights such as being an EU citizen upon request.
