Cooperation Agreement with George Mason and MaryLand Universities
Academicians from Turkey and various regions of America have participated in the conference organized by TASSA. Cooperation agreement has been signed with two Universities.
Academicians from Turkey and various regions of America have participated in the conference organized by Turkish American Scientists and Scholars Association (TASSA) in Marlyland University in USA. Cooperation agreement has been signed with George Mason and Maryland Universities.
TASSA conference, fifth of which has been organized this year with the vision of "building a sustainable bridge of science between Turkey and USA" has been initiated. Discussions and presentations that will enhance the cooperation between two countries in this area have been made in the conference organized in Marlyland University in USA. In panels followed by many participants from natural sciences, social sciences, engineering, medical sciences, law, educational sciences and art sciences, current affairs and innovative activities in these science fields have been brought into question. Conference also provides the opportunity of interaction between the academic world, business and government executives.
Davut Kavranoğlu, Deputy Minister of Sicence, Industry and Technology, Gökhan Çetinsaya, President of the Council of Higher Education and rectors from many universities throughout Turkey participated in the meeting of this year.
In the first day of the conference initiated with the opening speech of Namık Tan, Washington Ambassador of Turkey, Kemal Derviş, former Minister of State; Daron Acemoğlu and Gökhan Hotamışlıgil who are successful scientists and prides of Turkey in America; Aydoğan Özcan honored with Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers by Barack Obama, former President of the USA and many precious Turkish scientists successfully working in the leading universities of the USA made presentations. University rectors will discuss the question of the higher education models to be applied in Turkey and introduce their universities, providing students with the opportunity to get in contact with theuniversities.
COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH GEORGE MASON UNIVERSITY
Prof. Dr. Ali Güngör, Deputy Rector, Assist. Prof. Dr. Burak Küntay, Director of Bahçeşehir University Institute of Social Sciences and Prof. Dr. Murat Günel, Member of the Board of Trustees were BAU members of the conference. The group got in touch with the Rector of Maryland University and representatives of George Mason University and also signed cooperation agreement with the George Mason University. Gökhan Çetinsaya, President of the Council of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Ali Güngör and Assist. Prof. Dr. Burak Küntay from BAU group, Namık Tan, the Ambassador, and Daron Acemoğlu, Lecturer in MIT were in company during the meeting.
COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN BAU AND MARYLAND UNIVERSITY
Prof. Dr. Ali Güngör, Deputy Rector of Bahçeşehir University, Assist. Prof. Dr. Burak Küntay, Director of the Institute of Social Sciences and Wallace D. Loh, Rector of Maryland University came together and discussed on the cooperation between Maryland University and Bahçeşehir University. They decided to work together to carry out student and academician exchange between two universities and carry out joint master programs.
Rector Loh will visit Turkey in Semptember to be hosted by Bahçeşehir University and make negotiations in Bahçeşehir University.
