Prof. Dr. Şirin Karadeniz to be appointed as the Rector of Bahçeşehir University (BAU) by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
Prof. Dr. Şirin Karadeniz, who has been the Dean of BAU Faculty of Educational Sciences since March 8, 2017, has taken over the duty from Prof.Dr. Şenay Yalçın, who served as rector for 2 consecutive terms. In 2016, Ms. Karadeniz, who was elected for the Successful Female Trainer of the Year award in a partnership organisation of Microsoft and KAGIDER, also took part in many national and international projects in the World Bank and European Union.
Prof. Dr. Şirin Karadeniz stated that she was pleased to produce more by conducting research and projects and work for the benefit of society as a scientist; and she said, “At BAU, where I enjoy guiding students design their future by giving lectures and supervising their theses and I am happy to work with all our university members as managers at various levels; I am proud to have the opportunity to manage our university as the new Rector from now on. Our innovative, pioneering, entrepreneurial, global, agile and human-oriented philosophy in research, education and value added production; I am truly confident that we will achieve our goals together thanks to our freethinking, respect for differences, effective connection with our collective mind and team-spirit culture.”
ABOUT PROF. DR. ŞİRİN KARADENİZ
Prof.Dr.Karadeniz received her Bachelor's Degree in Computer Systems Education, Master's Degree in Computer Education and Doctorate in Educational Technology. She has given courses, trainings, seminars and workshops in the fields of integration of innovative technologies in education, coding and robotics teaching and STEM and has worked as manager, researcher, expert and consultant in national and international projects of TUBITAK, MONE, UNICEF, World Bank and European Union.
Ms. Karadeniz was elected for the Successful Female Trainer of the Year award in a partnership organisation of Microsoft and KAGIDER in 2016 and was awarded the BAU Social Benefit Award for her contribution to education in our country. Prof.Dr. Karadeniz served as a member of TUSIAD Education Working Group, Board Member of Future Education Association, President of Innovative Education and Research Center (YEGAM), Executive Committee Member of Bahçeşehir Uğur Education Institutions, Founding Director of BAU Learning and Teaching Center and Dean of Faculty of Educational Sciences.
