Bahcesehir University, Germany Aachen University and Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters Union (ITHIB) are making an important cooperation in order to further improve the classical textile industry in Turkey, provide conversion to the smart textile systems and grow people to provide this conversion. Within the cooperation, the Master’s Program in "Technical Textile Engineering Management" is being opened for growing people devoted to production within the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences of Bahcesehir University. Within the program to be opened, R&D and Production Engineer needs of ITHIB member companies will be met.
The program will be applied as a two-year graduate program, and the student candidates, who will take part in the program, will be determined by the member companies of ITHIB. The determined student candidates will continue to work in the same companies during and after the education. The student candidates to participate in the program will be selected after a three-month work process by the companies and they will participate in the program after the process of interview of BAU. Within the scope of the program, the students, who will take courses such as Engineering Management, Introduction to Textile, Technical Textiles, Project Management and Factory Applications, Research Methods, Technical Fibers and Yarns, Technical Textile Structures, Technology Management, Product Development and Process Management, Nanotechnology, Quality Management, will be able to graduate with or without dissertation. Aachen University, which is the other academic partner of the program, has undertaken the distance education application for some courses and the education of the students within the summer program at the end of the first year. The program, which is a first in this context, is a candidate for presenting a great conversion opportunity for our country in this field in terms of students continuing their education while working in the companies, applying the courses immediately in the same process and taking lessons in Aachen University which is a leading university in conversion of Germany the leading country of the world in technical textile.
The program, which targets to grow engineers who can make R & D works for production and work in the industry in addition to the academic expectations in Turkey for the first time, aims to provide technical textile production, that has a great share in the economies of Germany, South Korea, China, Japan and Brazil, and its impact on export within our country.
