The İnternational Silk Road Universities Association will begin hosting conferences at Bahçeşehir University through March 16-18, 2011.
Bahçeşehir University and Mukogawa University, located in Japan, have revived the Science Road Project, a project which is named after the historical Silk Road, and studies the socio-economic effects and the cultural legacy that the Silk Road has had upon the Asian continent. The project, founded by Bahcesehir and Mukogawa Universities in 2009 with the support of the International Silk Road Universities Association aims to encourage academic progress and support and strengthen collaborations between Asian universities.
The international Silk Road Universities Association will serve as a host to a series of visiting organizations. A conference will be held in the B Conference Salon on Wednesday, March 16th, and will be hosted by the internationally famous architect Tuncer Çakmaklı. Çakmaklı will share his design approaches during the conference through the presentation of his projects in Azerbaijan. Hong Kong, and Korea in a competition which he participated in in 2006
In a conference to be held at 7:00 on March 17th at the Fazıl Say Auditorium, Professor Doctor Shigeyuki Okazaki, Dean of the Architecture Faculty at Mukogawa University and author of many distinguished works, will lecture on the connection between architecture and philosophical concepts.
