On Saturday June 4th, BAU Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences organized a panel that is titled as "Industry 4.0". The panel started with opening statements by our President Prof. Şenay Yalçın and our Dean Prof. Taşkın Koçak; and it was moderated by BAU faculty member Assoc. Prof. Tunç Bozbura. The panel included Cem Vedat Işık from Intel Turkey, Ergün Çetin from Siemens Turkey and Öner Tekin from Netaş as well as Assist. Prof. Emin Köksal from BAU.
BAU Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences had already started to work on different technological aspects that constitutes Industry 4.0 approach. These include Internet of Things (IoT) applications at BAU Future Technologies Lab powered by Intel, virtual reality applications at First VR Lab BAU which is formed with Crytek and the Faculty of Communications, and an M.S. program that focuses on Big Data Analytics and Management. Our Dean Prof. Taşkın Koçak stated that starting with this panel organization, we will continue our work on Industry 4.0. He also announced that a new M.S. program dedicated to Industry 4.0 will be established in the next academic year.
