After the successful first two workshops hosted by Bahçeşehir University in 2014 and 2015, the III. BAU Workshop on ‘New Trends in Robotics’ was held on 3 June 2016, Friday at the Fazıl Say Auditorium on our Beşiktaş Campus.
This workshop series is aimed to provide an opportunity for the discussion of state-of-the-art developments and future trends in the field of robotics, facilitate joint research activities and academic collaboration as well as to promote robotics among K12 and university students. In his openning speech, Prof.Dr. Taşkın Koçak, Dean of Engineering and Natural Sciences said that The BAU Robotics Lab established with Stanford University is available for collaboration with other universities in Turkey. The workshop was organized as a half day event with invited talks given by experts from various universities such as California State University-Long Beach, Boğaziçi University, İzmir Technology Institute, Özyeğin University, Eskişehir Osmangazi University and Bahçeşehir University. Soft robots, factories of the future and Industry 4.0 approaches, novel surgical robots, human motion modeling for rehabilitation and robot motion generation, and robot learning from infants were some topics that were discussed by the speakers.
