Bahçeşehir University Economics student Batuhan Karakuş will represent Turkey at the Global Student Entrepreneur Award (GSEA) held in Bangkok with Stubridge application which enables classmates to share their lecture notes in online channels more conveniently, and easily communicate.
Recently, the number of social networks which appeal to specialized audience is growing; Stubridge draws attention in this area by making university life of students more convenient. With Stubridge, students taking the same course come together, share lecture notes, exchange ideas about exams and share their ideas on topics of their choice on the university wall.
Stubridge allows entrance only to email addresses with .edu extension; therefore every student can meet with other fellow students studying in his/her university.
SELECTED THROUGH 1700 STUDENTS
Bahçeşehir University student Batuhan Karakuş won the right to represent Turkey at the Global Student Entrepreneur Award (GSEA) to be held in Bangkok with Stubridge application. Having been selected as one of 50 entrepreneurs through 1700 students, Karakuş will compete for of 20 thousand dollars in prize money and support for the development of his project.
Founded in the second quarter of 2015 by Batuhan Karakuş and Sarp Keskin, Stubridge today has a 4-person software team and a 5-person marketing-research team supported by nearly 100 volunteer team members from 6 universities. Currently it can be used in Koç, Sabancı, Boğaziçi, Bilgi, Bahçeşehir and Özyeğin Universities and has 12,000 registered students. Stubridge aims to reach at least 30,000 students at universities within system by June.
FIRST IN EUROPE, NOW THE BANGKOK PASSENGER
Having received early stage investment from Emrah Kaya in September 2015, the social network is now testing itself in the international arena. The start-up which has been selected first in Turkey by competing in the European leg of the EO Global Student Entrepreneur Award contest in Berlin, is currently creating teams in the global market in Mumbai – India, Paris Sorbonne – France, UCLA and Stanford University – United States of America, and preparing to test Stubridge in universities abroad. On the other hand, it lives the excitement of representing Turkey at GSEA Global Final which will be held in Bangkok Thailand on May 10 to 12.
