Master’s Program in Educational Technology has English and Turkish options. The master’s programs with Thesis comprise 7 courses, a seminar course and Thesis-1 and Thesis-2 courses.
Students are provided with a wide range of elective courses, and they are given the opportunity to tailor their program of study according to their area of specialization and the type of career path they wish to pursue. Students are allowed to take courses offered by other education-related master’s programs such as English Language Education, Educational Administration and Planning, Higher Education Administration and Leadership and Educational Design and Evaluation. Students may also be interested in courses offered by other graduate schools, and they are allowed to take those courses with prior approval of their program coordinators.
Each required course is offered for a particular semester only, and the availability of the elective courses may vary from semester to semester. Elective courses may be offered on weekends for a specific semester. In addition, MA programs in Educational Technology, which fully benefit from educational technologies, may offer some blended (hybrid) courses upon the instructors’ request. By this means, students will not need to be physically present on campus each week. These blended courses merge synchronous and asynchronous delivery methods.
Students who fail to complete their programs by the end of their sixth semester, are allowed to continue their studies but they do not benefit from students’ rights. For a six-semester program, freezing registration will not be allowed for more than 2 semesters in total. Courses in the programs are typically delivered between 19:00 and 22:00 on weekdays at Beşiktaş Campus.
