WORK AT SCHOOL–SCHOOL AT WORK
Within the framework of the strategies developedby Bahcesehir University Center for the Development of Vocational and Technical Education our Vocational School students receive "practical training in the workplace two days a week" while continuing their education.
The main reason of the need for practical training, in accordance with the needs and expectations of the industry, "Strategic Workforce" which started out with the goal of raising an organization's scheme of our institution in the sector are the feedback from our advisory committee.Individuals who have received higher education in our country have difficulties in adapting to life in the business world after graduation. They do not go beyond theoretical education in school, which is why they are unable to gain sufficient knowledge and skill levels. Since we are aware of this situationour Vocational School is attentive to what type of knowledge and skills are required for students in each program before entering into the business world and decide on these factors together with our industry sector committees, which are composed of representatives from each sector. What hands-on training means is for students to enter into their target sector, gain recognition and full-time employment obligations, work in cooperation with industry representatives and gain sector related extensive knowledge.
The application of "Work at school – School at work" is not a financial burden for industry representatives. In contrast, with this practice business owners and managers are able to introduce their sector to students, employ students at different positions to alleviate workload and train students that meet their needs with the required knowledge and skill which gives industries access to an exclusive opportunity to perhaps train their future staff candidates.
All students who are undergoing practical training are insured against accidents at work and occupational diseases by our university.
The opportunity for vocational training for our 2nd year students during their 2nd semester allows for our students to increase their professional knowledge and skills we well as create a wide field of employment opportunities after graduation.
