School of Government and Leadership - Japan Project
The development of Turkey-Japan relations has been an important issue in the eyes of the Turkish public for a long time. Japan’s pace of development since the Second World War in social, economic and political issues has made Japan an important role model for the Turkish public and Turkish decision making mechanisms. Unfortunately, interest towards Japan has not been supported by scientific research projects.
The Bahçeşehir University School of Government and Leadership attempts to project some of the attention we are paying to Turkey’s foreign policy towards Japan by developing projects that emphasize bilateral relations. To further this goal we are planning on developing academic and social programs that enhance Turkey-Japan relations.
We have initiated the Japan Project with this vision in mind. Through organizing conferences, forums and roundtable meetings we focus on Turkey-Japan relations, the Japanese economic development model and Japanese education policies. The School of Politics Tokyo certificate program is an essential component to the Japan Project. Japanese economy, Turkey-Japan trade relations, Japanese Foreign Policy are topics that are covered in visits made to ministries, government offices, representatives from the business world and academics.
The goal of the School of Government and Leadership Japan Project is to promote bilateral relations in the academic, social, culture and economy fields.
