As the origin of the first civilizations, a place of major conflict and war for different religions and nations, the Middle East has been a region strategically significant for centuries. Today, the Middle East remains a region of interest due to the effects of globalization and regional power struggles following the recent uprisings in the Arab world.
The political, economic, historic and strategic analysis of the Middle East remains an important goal for a country like Turkey that serves as a bridge between the East and the West. The Bahçeşehir University School of Government and Leadership is aware of this fact and organizes panels, conferences and roundtable meetings, and publishes articles and reports as part of the Middle East Project to further raise awareness about this issue and develop an academic platform.
