TÜBİTAK 4004 - Let's Get to Know Our Body: The First Step to Becoming a Scientist - About Us

The aim of this activity is to share anatomical studies aimed at understanding and introducing the human body with different age groups under the Department of Anatomy at Bahçeşehir University School of Medicine.

In this way, young children who are just beginning to discover the 'human structure' will have the opportunity to learn and develop their imagination using three-dimensional models, while young people planning their career choices will have the chance to get to know the medical profession and medical education. They will thus see scientific research opportunities and methods first-hand.

The project will involve the Department of Anatomy and the Anatomy Museum of Bahçeşehir University School of Medicine. Kindergarten, primary school and secondary school students visiting our department will be given age-appropriate theoretical information on the structure of the human body, the relationships between organs and their functions by anatomy instructors and demonstrators. Based on this information, visitors will work on anatomical models and be able to play age-appropriate games (kindergarten children). Normal and pathological anatomical models made from real human specimens in our Anatomy Museum, as well as exhibitions on the history of anatomy and medicine, will also be presented in an age-appropriate manner. Where possible, these activities will also be supported by scientific films.
