About Us
The Bahçeşehir University Center of Migration and Urban Studies (BAUMUS) is an interdisciplinary research center that examines the dynamics of migration, urbanization, disasters, and social transformation. Established in 2014, BAUMUS seeks to develop solutions to complex global challenges related to mobility, disaster resilience, and urban life by integrating academic research, policy analysis, and societal engagement. The center conducts nationally and internationally funded research projects; organizes conferences, workshops, and public lectures; and collaborates with leading institutions around the world. By fostering dialogue among academia, policymakers, and civil society, BAUMUS seeks to promote inclusive, sustainable, and evidence-based approaches to migration, disaster, and urban governance in Türkiye and globally.
