Civil Engineering Laboratories
Civil engineering laboratories are located on the ground floor of Engineering and Natural Sciences Faculty in South Campus. The laboratories, comprising equipments for materials science, structure, fluid mechanics and soil mechanics laboratories, provide the students with the possibility to get to know the materials used in civil engineering applications from the 1st semester onwards. Our laboratories are used for research purposes by students as well as providing the opportunity to transform the theoretical education received at the university into practice through laboratory experiments.
Structures and Construction Materials
There are equipments that enable the production of concrete and measuring the strength and behavior of the materials commonly used in civil engineering applications such as concrete and steel. Tensile test, Concrete compression test, Concrete permeability test machines and Sieve analysis device, Pan type concrete mixer, Concrete curing tank are the equipments available in structures and construction materials laboratory.
Soil Mechanics
This laboratory is equipped with equipments that allow measurement of various soil parameters such as strength, potential settlement and water content. Consolidation device, Automatic direct shear test machine, Automatic soil compactor, Manual liquid limit device, Triaxial CU-CD systems, Sieve analysis device, Viscometer and Drying oven are the equipments present in the soil mechanics section of civil engineering laboratories.
Fluid Mechanics
Pipework energy losses device, Reynolds number and transitional flow demonstration apparatus and Flow measurement apparatus are the equipments available in the fluid mechanics section of the laboratories.
Surveying
The equipments required to observe and measure the terrestrial positions of points and the distances and angles between them are included here. Electronic theodolite and Auto-level are the equipments available in the laboratory.
