Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ipek Altinbasak-Farina
She received her BA degree in Business Administration from Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey and her MBA from West Georgia University in the USA. After graduation, she worked as brand manager, marketing manager and new product development director in the FMCG sector at companies like Unilever and Komili Holding. As a brand manager she received an award from United Nations with “Rama Cansuyu Project” nominated as the best environmental protection project of the year in 1994.
She got her PhD in marketing from Bogazici University and joined Bahcesehir University in 2004. She served as the director of the Social Sciences Institute and established more than 20 master programs at Bahcesehir University. She teaches several courses on Marketing, Brand Management, and research at undergraduate, graduate and PhD levels. Among her research interests are country image/place marketing, brand management, marketing strategy, social marketing and service marketing.
She has been giving trainings to the representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey and she has been elected as the member of the commission of the Ministry responsible for identifying the worldwide promotion campaigns of Turkey for the two consecutive years, 2011-2012. She has prepared and presented a TV program namely “Branding Adventure” in TRT for several years. She has also worked as strategy consultant in telecommunication, leather and finance sectors.
