Being a Woman at Work: A Perspective on Demands and Resources

In her speech titled “Sex, Gender and Psychosocial Risks” at the webinar “Being a Woman in Working Life” organized by Safe Zone Journal and Tez Medikal, Prof. Dr. İdil Işık discussed the demands women face in business life and the resources that enable them to cope with these demands through metaphors.

Women's experiences in business life are shaped by invisible boundaries, binary expectations and psychosocial risks. Metaphors such as Icarus, Centaurus, Tightrope walker, Labyrinth, Lighthouse, Compass, Embroidering Hands, Tree with Deep Roots provided a powerful tool to describe the challenges women face and how they cope with these challenges.
