Bahçeşehir University English Proficiency Exam

 

The English Proficiency Exam consists of 2 parts:

PART 1:     WRITTEN EXAM

• Exam Date:  December 18th  Saturday, 2021
• Time: 09:00-12:00

Location: BAHÇEŞEHİR UNIVERSITY FUTURE CAMPUS

Kemerburgaz Mithatpaşa Mahallesi İstoza Mevkii Eyüpsultan / İstanbul

Number of questions:  60 (multiple-choice) +1 writing task

         Duration       :  180 minutes

         Weighting    :  80%

Description  : The questions on the test have been designed to assess the following:      

   vocabulary, use of English, reading, listening and writing

LISTENING	45 minutes	1. WHILE LISTENING 2. NOTE-TAKING	15 QUESTIONS
			TOTAL: 60 QUESTIONS
WRITING	70 minutes	ESSAY WRITING (300 – 350  words)	1 Essay

 

After the written exam, English Proficiency Exam Part 2 (Speaking) will be held on the December 18th  Saturday, 2021. The exam will be done on an appointment basis. The appointments will be announced on the notice boards on the December 18th  Saturday, 2021, after the written exam. The examinees are required to be present in front of the exam room just 15 minutes  before their appointments. The results of the exam will be announced on the 21st of September, Tuesday, 2021.  

PART 2:  SPEAKING EXAM

• Exam Date: December 18th  Saturday, 2021
• Time: The exam will be done on an appointment basis. The appointments will be announced on the notice boards on the December 18th  Saturday, 2021 after the written exam. The examinees are required to be present in front of the exam room just 15 minutes before their appointments.  

Location: BAHÇEŞEHİR UNIVERSITY FUTURE CAMPUS

Duration: 4 - 6 minutes (per student)                            

Weighting:  20%        

Description:  In this section, the student is expected to speak about two different topics for about 4-6 minutes. The student’s performance is assessed according to the following criteria:

• Relevance and expansion
• Grammar
• Vocabulary
• Fluency
• Pronunciation and intonation

Procedure:  The student draws two questions from an envelope and tries to answer them in detail.
