Students who enrolled in programs whose language of instruction is Turkish at Bahçeşehir University must first successfully complete the Turkish Preparatory Program or be exempt from the Turkish Preparatory Program in order to start their department courses.
Both the students who registered for Turkish-medium programs for the first time and the students who chose to take the optional education in the Turkish Preparatory Program must take the Turkish Placement Exam to be held on Monday, September 20, 2021.
Students who are able to answer at least 30 questions correctly out of 60 multiple-choice questions in the Placement Exam will be considered successful and will be entitled to take the Turkish Proficiency Exam. In order for students to succeed in the Turkish Proficiency Exam and therefore be exempt from the Turkish Preparatory Program, they must attain at least 60% success rate in the Turkish Proficiency Exam.
TURKISH PLACEMENT EXAM
The Turkish Placement Exam of the 2021-2022 Academic Year of Bahçeşehir University will be implemented on Monday, September 20, 2021 between 10:00-14:00 hours ONLINE.
Exam Content: Turkish Placement Exam, consists of 60 multiple choice questions assessing language and reading skills. A sample Turkish Placement Exam can be found under the heading of “Sample Exams” in the Internet Website of “Bahçeşehir University Turkish and Foreign Languages Application and Research Center” (TÜRKMER).
Exam Duration: You are allowed 75 minutes to complete the exam. Your exam time shall start as soon as you access the exam between 10:00-14:00 o’clock and will be terminated at the end of 75 minute period.
Exam Process: The Turkish Placement Exam will be implemented ONLINE via the MS Teams application.
In the Placement Exam, every 4 (four) wrong answers will eliminate one correct answer.

TURKISH PROFICIENCY EXAM
The students who obtain at least 30 net points out of the 60 questions of the ONLINE Placement Exam to be held on Monday, September 20, 2021 will be entitled to take the FACE-TO-FACE Turkish Proficiency Exam on Friday, September 24, 2021.
Exam Content: The exam content and a sample Turkish Proficiency Exam can be found under the heading of “Sample Exams” in the Internet Website of “Bahçeşehir University Turkish and Foreign Languages Application and Research Center” (TÜRKMER).
Exam Process: The written exam will begin as of 09:00 FACE TO FACE. The speaking part of the Turkish Proficiency Exam will be conducted on the same day at 13:30 o’clock again FACE TO FACE.
Place of the Exam: Bahçeşehir University South Campus at Beşiktaş.
The students who acquired a score of less than 30 net in the Placement Exam to be held on Monday, September 20, 2021 ONLINE and the students who failed the Turkish Proficiency Exam will be assigned to their respective preparatory classes. The students of the Turkish Preparatory Program will start on Monday, October 11, 2021 in the campuses to be announced.
